![]() So building a Barbarian Mead Hall just makes it so you have a tower that's awful at stalling and mediocre/bad at killing. Demons, Rotshrooms, Swamp Things, or basically any enemy that does a good or even decent job at killing units will demolish the Barbarians. Other Towers do a better job at killing, while Barracks are supposed to do a better job at stalling. Stalling is also generally much more effective than killing, because that's the Barracks' job. These are their main problems when focusing on killing, but since killing is their only purpose, not being able to do it very well just makes them not a good tower. And their 3.5 second cooldown doesn't make it reliable for taking down hordes, and makes overkill quite detrimental. ![]() The axes however will generally target the same enemy, and if it overkills, there is a lot of wasted damage. Second, though their DPS is really high, they can't stay in melee combat for very long, therefore they have to rely on their throwing axes a lot. First of all, they only deal physical damage, which is extremely detrimental in KR1, where enemy armor is very potent. This would be a fine concept, but they don't have the power to make it work. But at least they are not completely outclassed by their competition, because they serve a different role than Paladins. These include: Not dying to a single Abomination explosions, being able to tank enemies with area attacks and ranged attacks more effectively, and having more durability if you don't upgrade your level 4 barracks.įrom what i've heard, Barbarians are generally considered to be the worst tower in the series. There are a few VERY specific niches that they can do better than Assasins. This also makes their basic attack far worse than it seems. But they have a 2.5 second attack rate, which means that Arterial strike won't trigger very often, making it very unreliable. Their offensive ability, Arterial Strike, has a 10% chance to trigger, and does good true damage. They cost 1170 gold with Toughness III, which is just a lot of invested gold into a barracks. Holy Grail III (550 G) grants them a 40% chance to resurrect with around 1/3 of their HP, so the stalling power they provide should be great right? The thing is, Templars are ridicoulusly expensive. They can get up to 150 extra health with three levels of the Toughness upgrade (600 G), making their EHP 1062, which is very high. This makes their EHP 687, which is quite high. The Templars have 275 health, and 60% armor. The Assasin's Guild is a far better alternative for just about everything. The Knights Templar is the closest thing to a useless tower. With the boring stuff out of the way, let's get this started. (and also something to pass the time during my school break lol) THIS IS JUST MY OPINION THAT I WANTED TO SHARE WITH THE COMMUNITY. I will be using my experiences to tell a tower's usefulness, so remember: I have completed all three games on Veteran/Impossible 3 stars in campaign mode and Iron and Heroic challenges on all stages. I will not be including Special Towers, because i don't wanna waste any more time on this than i already have. Most of the time, incorporating other towers into your strategy will get you a better result. Is the Tower spammable, and still beats most levels with 3 stars?Įxplanation: I don't think this is how the games should be played in the first place. Things that will not affect this ranking: Is the damage type(s) that the tower deals effective against the enemies in the game? What void does the tower fill in a strategy? Is the tower capable of taking care of more than one threat in a level? Is the tower outclassed by a tower in another tower class? (This won't make a big impact on their placement, because in Iron Challenges, you can often just build one of them) ![]() How does the tower compare to it's counterpart (the other level 4 option)? If they serve very different roles, which tower has the more useful role, and how well do they pull it off? How expensive is the tower until it becomes good enough to justify buying it in the first place? ![]() How big of an impact does the tower make on the level? How often would you use the tower on different levels? How useful is the tower against different enemies? I decided to make a ranking of all the towers from the first three games. ![]()
